What Methods do you use to wash and dry the tents?

When your materials arrive at Sturdy Stitches they are all tagged, unrolled, and inspected for any heavily soiled areas needing pretreatment, or any repairs that you described to us when you dropped them off. Any ropes are gathered into a small roll and we then zip tie them together to prevent tangling before being cleaned in our Teeco tent washing machine. We also cover any exposed metal to prevent damage to your tent during the washing process. Your equipment is then fan folded and placed into our washing machine for a washing cycle ranging from 40 minutes to 1 hour (depending on load size). Our system uses a warm water wash (never over 100°F) and cold water rinsing to ensure complete removal of suds and debris. The washing soaps that we use are specifically designed for washing the industry standard tent top material. We use a detergent called Gentle Scrub Tent Detergent and it is specifically formulated to safely and effectively work with the washer to get you the best results possible. It is designed not only to wash the tough stains on vinyl tops but also to completely and thoroughly clean all strapping and webbing. Because tent tops are sensitive to temperature, Gentle Scrub is designed to perform at the temperature needed to safely and effectively wash tents, eliminating the need for higher washing temperatures usually required with other cleaning products.

Do I need to have my Items folded a certain way?

No you don’t. We Unroll and inspect each unit that you bring in to us and then we fold the unit a special way in order for the detergent to evenly spread threw your tent during the washing process.

Can you repair the tents, inflatables, etc?

Yes we can! we can repair minor rips and wholes in your tent tops and sidewalls, we also offer rope and buckle replacement on your tops. We can also fix your inflatable rides as well: netting issues, blown baffles, rips, tears, tie down straps, air tubes, seam issues and floor panels. We also offer accessories for your rentals: tent bags, side wall bags, drop cloths, sand bags, inflatable straps, and extension cord straps.

What about mildew?

We will visually inspect each unit for any heavily soiled areas that need to be pretreated, we will call you and see if you would like us to just wash it in the normal cycle or if you would like for use to hand scrub the heavily soiled areas at an additional charge.

What is Inflatable winterizing?

We will open up each one of the inflatables that you bring to us inspect it for any repairs (we will contact you about any repairs needed) and thoroughly clean, vacuum, disinfect, treat any heavily soiled stains (mildew, leaf stains, rust stains, and silly string, we will make every effort to get out any of these stains but cannot guarantee that every stain will come out completely!) and of course dry them completely. We guarantee your inflatables will be dried, look better than ever, and be ready to go for your next spring time rental! We do not put the inflatables into the washing machine; they are hand scrubbed, cleaned and sanitized.

I want to bring my items to Sturdy Stitches, how and when can I do this? And how long does the process take?

When you reserve your washing time with Sturdy Stitches, one of our representatives will discuss how your items will reach us. If you will be dropping off or picking up your items from our facility, you will need an appointment. We receive and send out shipments 9:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday. When you contact us we will check availability for our washing schedule. Generally we plan on a 10-14 day turn around period from arrival to inspect, wash, dry, repair & package your materials. During peak season our turn around can fluctuate and we'll let you know that when you contact us. We do offer rush & even overnight [wet return] rush services at an additional charge.

What type of payment do you accept?

We typically take a 50% deposit up front on the basic pricing, When we are done with your equipment the remaining 50% balance is due upon pick-up or shipping. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Cash, Money Order, Cashier Checks, and Company Checks.(please note that if you are paying with a company check we will need a 7-10 clearing period before you can pick-up your items)

How clean will my Items be?

We can tell you that the items that you bring to Sturdy Stitches to get cleaned and serviced will be cleaner, brighter, fresher smelling and looking more like new than ever before. But please remember that any heavy tears, rips, deeply stained items will not totally disappear in our washing and repairing process, but we can promise you we will try our very best to remove those items.
